The next biostats meeting will be held on Thursday Feb 19 @ 5:00 in room 5168 at the HI Site.

Below you will find links to the two papers for discussion next week and another paper which is just a reference that you may find helpful as it relates to last sessions content ("Statistics II: Central tendency and spread of data" in Continuing Ed in Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain).

Paper 2.pdf (from N Eng J Med) and Hill-2007-Journal of Critical Care.pdf are to be reviewed with regards to Methods Section (particularily Power/Sample size and Statistical Analysis). The purpose is to discuss how you interpret or understand these sections as you read scientific papers and why or if they are important.
